Privacy Policy

Last updated: 31 May 2026.

This Privacy Policy describes how Swipeline (the “Site”) handles information when visitors read our editorial coverage of card payments in regulated sports betting. The Site is informational and does not sell products, hold customer accounts or accept payments. The scope of processing is therefore narrow.

Who is responsible for your data

The editorial team operating Swipeline is the controller of the limited data processed through the Site. References to “we”, “us” or “our” in this document refer to that editorial team. We can be reached through the channels listed on the About Us page.

What we collect

We collect only what is technically necessary to deliver the Site and understand how articles are being read in aggregate. The categories are as follows.

Server log data. When your browser requests a page, our hosting layer records standard web-server information: your IP address in truncated form, the page requested, the referrer, the user-agent string, the response code and the timestamp. These logs are retained for a limited period for security, abuse prevention and troubleshooting, then rotated out.

Analytics data. We use a privacy-aware analytics system to measure which articles are read and how visitors navigate between them. Where applicable, IP addresses are anonymised before storage and we do not build cross-site advertising profiles. Aggregate metrics such as country, device type and article popularity are retained; individual browsing sessions are not.

Cookie data. A small number of cookies are set to support the operation of the Site and, where consent is given, to support analytics. See the Cookie Policy for a list of categories and purposes.

We do not collect names, postal addresses, phone numbers, card data, betting-account data or any information that identifies you personally unless you voluntarily submit it through a contact channel, in which case the message itself is the data.

Why we process data

Processing serves four specific purposes. First, delivering the pages you request and keeping the Site operational. Second, preventing abuse, bot traffic and fraudulent use of hosting resources. Third, understanding which topics readers find useful, so editorial priorities can be adjusted. Fourth, complying with legal obligations where they apply, including requests from regulators or courts in jurisdictions where our hosting is located.

Where the UK and EU General Data Protection Regulation applies, our legal bases are legitimate interest for security logging, consent for non-essential cookies and analytics, and legal obligation for retention required by law. Where United States, Canadian, Australian or other national privacy frameworks apply, the equivalent local bases apply in parallel.

Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We do not share data with advertising networks for profiling. Limited technical data is processed by service providers who host the Site, deliver content through a content-delivery network and provide privacy-aware analytics. These providers act as processors under written terms and are bound by confidentiality.

Data may be disclosed to public authorities when a legally valid request is received in the jurisdiction where the data is held. Where the law permits, we inform the affected visitor.

International transfers

The Site may be served from, and supported by, infrastructure located in the United States, the European Union or the United Kingdom. Where personal data crosses borders, we rely on contractual safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.

Retention

Server logs are kept for a limited period measured in weeks, after which they are purged or anonymised. Analytics records are kept in aggregate form and individual session-level records are retained only for the minimum window needed to compute rolling metrics. Any message you send us through a contact channel is kept only as long as needed to respond and is then deleted.

Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to request access to the data we hold about you, correction of inaccurate data, deletion, restriction of processing, objection to processing and portability. You also have the right to withdraw consent to analytics cookies at any time through our cookie settings. UK and EU residents may lodge a complaint with their national supervisory authority. California and other US-state residents may exercise rights granted under their state privacy law.

Requests are responded to within the statutory timeframe of the applicable law, typically one calendar month.

Children

The Site covers gambling-adjacent topics and is intended for an adult audience. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We apply technical and organisational measures appropriate to the limited volume of data processed, including TLS encryption for all traffic, access controls on backend systems and patch management on hosting infrastructure. No online service can guarantee absolute security, and you transmit information to the Site at your own risk.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated to reflect changes in law, technology or editorial practice. The effective date at the top of the page is the authoritative reference. Material changes will be flagged on the homepage for a reasonable period.
